Hi! I'm b9AcE.

I spend most of my time gathering and spreading news, other information and opinions on primarily online, primarily under the pseudonym b9AcE.
I've been doing this for about 15 years now.
My current main location is as @b9AcE@todon.eu,
while before that I was @b9AcE@soc.ialis.me (one of the admin-collective there) and
before that I was @b9ace@quitter.se since September 2014,
but both of the latter two Mastodon-instances are now dead,
I was on Twitter as @b9AcE since February of 2009, but no longer active there as it became unacceptable.

I strive most of all to with accuracy amplifying less worldwide heard voices to the best of my capability,
through using sources I have known for a long time to be trustworthy, or relying on them having verified the credibility of their further sources.

The general focus is primarily on liberatory movements worldwide, with extra active focus on what I call the eastern Mediterranean and
a bit farther east all the way to sometimes Afghanistan, as well as the Nordic Countries,
while I have also established general background knowledge through covering extraordinary circumstances throughout northern to central Africa,
most places of western Europe, northern America and some other places so I may also sometimes return
to the topics of events in those areas with that background awareness as a foundation.

Examples of topics covered in the past include, in approximate order of started coverage:
• Resistance to austerity policies in places like Greece, Spain, Sweden, Germany, USA, UK and many more
• Liberation- and/or autonomy-movements of occupied places like Palestine, Kurdistan, Sápmi, et cetera
• Revolutions in the Middle East- and North Africa-region, commonly mislabeled as "the Arab Spring"
• Occupy Wall Street movement worldwide
• Occupy Gezi and the continuation thereof
• Antifascism worldwide, but with most active focus on Nordic Countries
• Many, many more topics and surely many more to come

I held a poll on Mastodon in February 2024 asking how people would feel about me starting to accept donations and
of everyone that cast a vote, it was 100% yes, so here we are.
A stipulation that I set in that poll was "I promise I would not promise to give anything in return" and I stand by that.
Donations do NOT entitle you or anyone else to any rewards or demands, explicit or implicit.
This is primarily to strive to avoid that the donations themselves could otherwise influence the reliability of the information provided, even if subconsciously.
Neither does donations guarantee any level of activity on my part at any particular time.
I may for example need to take an extended rest, or do something else, whether planned or unexpected.

Also, in October of 2017 a mutation activated so that I became visually impaired through something called "Leber's hereditary optic neuropathy" or "LHON",
but I am doing what I can to work around that by having a very large computer monitor and other assistance tools.
Since January 2024 I am a retiree, on early medical retirement.
Previously my profession was computer administration and adjacent, mostly on UNIX and similar operating systems like Linux.
